ऑक्सिजन हा नेहमीच O2 का असतो? नुसताच ऒ का नाही? मग ऑक्सिजन हा रेणू समजायचा का? कारण रेणू तयार होण्यासाठी दोन किंवा अधिक मूलद्रव्यांचे अणू एकत्र येण्याची गरज असते.

रेणू तयार होण्यासाठी कोणत्याही मूलद्रव्यांचे दोन किंवा अधिक अणु एकत्र येण्याची गरज असते; मात्र ही मूलद्रव्ये वेगवेगळीच असली पाहिजेत असे नाही. ही मूलद्रव्ये वेगवेगळीही असू शकतात किंवा सारखीही असू शकतात. याच कारणास्तव O2 हा रेणू ठरतो.

single element 'O' have atomic number 8 and electrons in inner shell is 2 and outer shell is 6..so it required 2 more electrons to complete the out shell....so single oxygen is unstable in normal environment so it search for 2 more electrons..so in nature a single oxygen get combined with another structure or element who provides 2 electrons just like H2-O or more precise H-O-H...similarly it combines with another element of oxygen 0=0 forming covalent bond..that's why normally oxygen is in 02 form and yes you can consider it as molecule and not an element

Sir in case of O2 it is right but what about O 3 i.e. Ozone molecule.

In case of ozone/o3 it forms a triangular shape with single bonds.
So each atom shares 1 electron with other 2 Oxygen atoms , so you can draw a triangle place 1 Oxygen atom on each point/angle of a triangle and consider each side as a single bond( sharing of 1 electron from external orbit)  this is typically an equilateral triangle (for quick understanding).
